BILLINGS - The two people who died in a house fire in the Emigrant area were taken to the State Medical Examiner in Billings on Friday.

Park County Coroner Albert Jenkins and Park County Sheriff's Office Detective Brian Green joined the State Medical Examiner to identify the victims and their cause of death, according to a statement from Undersheriff Clay Herbst of the Park County Sheriff's Office.

A 911 call reported a neighbor’s residence was on fire early Thursday morning. Fire personnel attempted to make contact with anyone who was in the home but received no response.

Once the fire was extinguished, two people and a dog were found dead in the residence.

Further information will be released as it becomes available, Herbst stated.
