MISSOULA - The 2018 State Class B basketball tournament is coming up, and Destination Missoula Sports Commission is in need of volunteers. The tournaments will be held march 8 - March 10. Anyone interested in volunteering can click here for more information.

MISSOULA - The Missoula County Elections Office is coming up nearly 350 people short of its target for 800 trained election judges to assist with elections in the next year. Anyone who would like to lend a hand can call Elections Supervisor Bradley Seaman at (406) 258-3241 or send an email for more information.

KALISPELL - Imagine If of Kalispell is offering a two hour workshop by the Good Seeds Company for those who wish to plan out their garden for the coming year. The event will be held on Feb. 3 in the Imagine IF meeting room.

MISSOULA - Missoula County Parks, Trails, and Open Lands, and the City of Missoula Parks and Recreation are working collaboratively to plan for the next 10 years of open space conservation. An open house will be held on Feb. 6 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Hellgate Elementary Building #3 Common Room. Click here for more information,

MISSOULA - Love your heart?  Love your sweetie?  Love to run in red outfits?  If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then you need to be at the Heart Throb 5K on Feb. 10. Race registration is only $15 for Run Wild Missoula members, or $17 for non-members, through race day, and is available online.

LOST TRAIL PASS - Come ski and ride Lost Trail's bountiful snow and support the lost trail ski patrol at their 34th annual Steak Fry on Feb. 10. The event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. at the ski lodge. For $15 you can enjoy a steak dinner, or for $10 a hamburger dinner. All proceeds benefit the ski patrol's medical supply purchases and training.

POLSON - The annual Polson Kiwanis Burgerfest will be held at the Polson Elk's Club on Feb. 12 beginning at 4:30 p.m. For just $10 a ticket, you will help support student scholarships for the greater Mission Valley. Click here for more information.

KALISPELL - Women of all ages and abilities have an opportunity to enjoy a day of ice fishing and learn a few tips from the pros at an upcoming course in Kalispell. FWP's Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program is sponsoring an ice fishing class in Kalispell on Feb. 16 and Feb. 17. This class is for beginning or intermediate female anglers who want to learn the basics or improve their fishing skills. The class fee is $15 and registration is required. MISSOULA - PKS for PKD is a 12 hour soccer game where two teams of 12 players will raise $12,000 and awareness for the PKD Foundation, an organization focused on finding a cure for Polycystic Kidney  Disease. The event is to be held at the Missoula Indoor Sports Arena on Feb. 17. Kickoff at 1:30 p.m.

HAMILTON - The Bitter Root Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc has announced its February first-time home-buyers class. The Feb 17 class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bitterroot Valley Board of REALTORS™ building at the corner of 4th and Cherry streets in Hamilton. MISSOULA - Residents are invited to share their vision for the future of open space in the Missoula Valley at a Feb. 6 open house hosted by Missoula Parks and Recreation and Missoula County Parks, Trails, and Open Lands. The public open house is part of a collaborative City-County effort to map out the next 10 years of parks and recreation service to residents. Call (406) 552-6254 for more info.

ARLEE - The 14th Annual Chocolate Lovers Festival tasting and fundraiser auction gets underway at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 just in time for Valentine’s Day. This year’s event will be held at the Brown Building Community Center on Highway 93. Entries will be accepted between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Feb. 7. HELENA - The nonprofit Cannabis Way, Montana Chapter has partnered with state and local government leaders to sponsor Montana's first inaugural Cannabis Conference on Feb. 9 at the Montana State Capitol from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. BIGFORK - Montana State Parks will host “Love at First Flight” at Flathead Lake State Park – Wayfarers  on Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. Celebrate the season of love with your love of nature at this family friendly Valentine’s event.  The cost is $4 per person, or $10 per family.  Space is limited. MISSOULA - A benefit dinner and auction for cancer patient Mike McLean, a juvenile probation officer here in Missoula for the past 44 years. Mike was recently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and to help support her grandfather, Eryka McLean is doing this fundraiser as her senior project.  Come on out to the Sunrise Saloon on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.  

LOLO - Back Country Horsemen of Missoula is happy to announce their 2018 membership round up will take place on Feb. 24 at the Lolo Community Center. Call (406) 529-7242 for more information.

WHITEFISH - Whitefish winter decorations will be taken down for the season on Feb. 25. Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Third Street and Central Avenue in downtown Whitefish.  Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and bring gloves.  New volunteers are always welcome to help with this long-time community project. MISSOULA - The 34th annual Montana Aviation Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn – Downtown Missoula on March 1-3. This year’s conference will feature presentations, including those of three keynote speakers, on topics of interest to pilots and others involved in general aviation in Montana. PABLO - ChickTech: Missoula is hosting a 1-day workshop on April 14 at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo to encourage high-school girls to enter computing and technical fields.Participants will choose to work on web and mobile app projects and are mentored by industry and academic professionals from high-tech fields.
