Butte men suspected in multiple marijuana dispensary break-ins

Posted: Updated:

BUTTE - Two men were jailed Monday in connection with attempting to break into medical marijuana businesses in Butte.

Butte police arrested Matthew Fotsch, 25, and Daniel LaMere, 18, early Friday morning after patrons at a bar on Harrison Avenue called police after noticing the two men acting suspiciously in an alley.

The pair allegedly ran from police but were soon apprehended. Investigators suspect the men tried to enter three businesses in the area.

“We followed their footprints, we did locate footprints that matched the shoes that they were wearing, around a couple of our medical marijuana shops in the area. We did determine they attempted to break into at least two of them.

One of them cut the wires off security cameras, the other one they broke a window out of,” said Butte Undersheriff George Skuletich.
