HELENA - Montana's flu season is not slowing down.
The Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services reports that 723 new influenza cases have been confirmed in the week ending Jan. 20.
The latest numbers bring the total number of cases reported this flu season to 3,289. More than 420 patients have been hospitalized and 21 people have died of influenza in Montana.
Yellowstone County reported 73 more cases in the latest report bringing its season total to 384. Flathead County continues to be hardest hit by the flu with 462 cases.
DPHHS reports the most common influenza type identified this season continues to be Influenza A H3.
