GREAT FALLS - An induction ceremony took place in Great Falls at the Best Western Plus Heritage Inn on Saturday in front of a large crowd.
Inductees were honored for the 12th anniversary of the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame and those in attendance celebrated the notable accomplishments and lasting legacies of all 35 inductees for the class of 2017.
Norma Ashby was one of the inductees and she received a standing ovation.
“This was a total surprise to be inducted into the Montana Cowboys Hall of Fame and I was so deeply honored and it kind of says a lot for the impact of television because those 26 years I was on air through the home station, KRTV, we were able to tell many stories of cowboys and cowgirls,” she said.
Ashby was the co-host of Today in Montana at KRTV for 26 years. She became the first living woman and second overall, to be inducted into the Montana Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
