Bozeman City Commission reviews plans for new high school stadium

Posted: Updated:

BOZEMAN - City Commissioners will be reviewing the plans for the new high school stadium, next Monday.

The school district and the city commissioners have an agreement that any plans must be reviewed by the city before the school district begins work.

"We have very frequent meetings with the city on all of our projects," said Deputy Superintendent of Operations, Steve Johnson.

The major part of the new stadium plan will be the traffic in that area and so the school district conducted a traffic study.

"They're trying to design it to carry a lot of traffic,” said Johnson

One of the areas that sees a lot of traffic is right here at the intersection of 15th and Beall, so the plan calls for putting a round-about to alleviate some of those issues.

It might be traffic calming, but they don't want it to slow down or bottleneck the traffic in any way.

The plan calls for a traffic circle about the size of the one on College St. and 11th near Montana State University.

The costs for each part of the new stadium plan was accounted for in the school bond passed last spring.
