Frigid cold tonight and into this weekend

Posted: Feb 09, 2018 10:00 AM Updated:

Snowfall has come to an end in Great Falls, but still plenty of fresh snow on the roads and sidewalks.

Temperatures will get dangerously cold as highs in Great Falls will not even get above 0 degrees on Friday, and lows will drop to double-digit below zero in many places before even factoring in the wind chill.

Many areas are under a wind chill advisory.

If you are going outside to shovel or clear off the snow from the past storm, make sure to bundle up. Exposed skin in these conditions can produce frostbite in less than 30 minutes, so don't stay outside longer than you have to.

Although conditions will stay dry and sunny for the remainder of the day today and the weekend, it will remain cold with below-average temperatures.

Snow will be coming back into the picture to close out the weekend on Sunday night.

The STORMTracker Weather Team will have all the updates on this next upcoming snow event. Until then, stay updated with temperatures on the KRTV Weather App.
