BILLINGS - Prosecutors allege a woman stabbed her brother's girlfriend during a day of heavy drinking when the two women argued over loud music.

Marlana Marie Blackdog, 21, has been charged in Yellowstone County Justice Court with felony assault with a weapon. She is being held at the Yellowstone County jail on $20,000 bond.

According to charging documents, police were sent Friday at 6:45 a.m. to a residence on Logan Lane to investigate a reported stabbing. Officers found a man and woman outside the residence, and the woman was bleeding severely from the head.

Officers had the woman go inside the residence to treat her wound and found blood all over the home, court records state. The man told officers that his sister, Blackdog, and his girlfriend had got into an argument because he was playing music loudly.

The man told officers both women had been drinking for hours before they began to argue over the music. He said he intervened between the women when the argument turned physical and noticed when they separated that his girlfriend was bleeding severely.

The man said his sister immediately left the home and appeared to be carrying a small knife.

The woman was taken to Billings Clinic where she was treated for a large gash on the side of her head and two stab wounds, one to the abdomen and one to the leg. She gave officers a similar account of what led up to the assault.

An officer later located Blackdog near a Heights restaurant where she was arrested. The officer said Blackdog had what appeared to be dried blood on her clothing.

Blackdog was uncooperative during an interview, court records state, but maintained her actions were self-defense.
