Missoulians can drink beer to help animals in need

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - A local brewery is giving folks a chance to drink beer and save pets.

AniMeals will be hosting a fundraiser called "Pints For Pets” at the Missoula Brewing Company from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday.

A portion of the proceeds from each beer purchased will help the animals and families that AniMeals serves. The money will pay for things such as food for animals who belong to low-income families and surgeries for animals at the shelter.

Events like these are one of the only ways that the shelter can afford to take care of its critters.

"It helps us tremendously because you know we don’t have a study funding source anywhere else. We kind of rely on the help from other people to do that and, you know,  thankfully we have a wonderful community here that, you know, really gets behind our vision and believes in us and I think it’s pretty great to see the support we do have," said Kris Bratlien, an AniMeals event coordinator and marketing director.

The event is aimed to draw in the entire family and will also feature pizza and a play area for the kids.

The Missoula Brewing Company is located at 200 International Drive in Missoula.
