KALISPELL - The Kalispell City Council has approved a contested housing project.
The council approved the conditional use permit for a 324-unit housing development project to be built on Two Mile Drive earlier this week.
Councilman Kyle Waterman was the only one who voted against the proposal.
The city planning board sent the recommendation for the new development to the city council in December.
Community members raised concerns ranging from pedestrian access to potential flooding.
