Tracking Snow & Wind & Travel Concerns This Afternoon

Posted: Updated:

Mild temperatures today across SW Montana due to a warm front passing through producing breezy conditions and a little snow along the MT/ID state line.

Friday a cold front will pass through and again there is a chance for a little bit of wet weather and gusty winds. This appears to be a weaker storm so impacts to travel are not likely to be widespread but more localized over mountain passes for example.

The National Weather Service has a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY up for far western Montana into Friday morning including I-90 over Lookout Pass. Snow accumulations of 2"-5" are possible with up to 7".

Passes on the MT/ID line like: Monida, Raynolds and Targhee passes will have the best chance for minor snow accumulations now through early Saturday morning.

The above on demand STORMTracker video forecast will walk you through the forecast hour by hour and show you how much snow could impact SW Montana with Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard.
