BOZEMAN - State Auditor Matt Rosendale issued a crowdfunding certificate for Cowboy Crickets to raise up to $750,000 in the next year.
Rosendale arrived at Cowboy Crickets farm in Belgrade around 9:30 a.m. to take a tour of the facilities. The staff showed him an entire range of crickets all the way from eggs to adults. Rosendale says Montana has many great businesses that can benefit from local funding.
“It expands the economy here in Montana with Montanans and it gives people that are living here the ability to stay right here at home and I think that is a win, win,” said Rosendale.
Marketing Manager James Rolin said he was honored to give Rosendale a tour of the facility. Rolin says that the money that they plan to raise over the next year will be used in order to improve the farm's technology and will help keep the community involved.
“I think that getting our company out there into the hands of the people of Montana really is the best way forward. We have had customers and friends ask to invest in the company and I have had to tell them no, but now with this document signed I can finally tell them yes,” said Rolin.
Rolin says that Cowboy Crickets plans to start asking for investments immediately. Rosendale will continue to visit business around Montana during his statewide Invest in Montana Tour.
