MISSOULA - The City of Missoula is undertaking a website redesign and want to hear from you. The first step is to take an opinion-gathering survey which can be found here. The survey will be up online through March 15.

KALISPELL - Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is recruiting volunteer hosts for two popular fishing access sites in northwest Montana. FWP is accepting applications for host positions at Echo Lake Fishing Access Site and Paul’s Memorial Fishing Access Site. Hosts will live on-site. FWP provides space for host RVs with water, septic and electricity. More info at (406) 751-5423.

MISSOULA - Missoula County Public Schools has begun registering students for kindergarten for fall 2018. While parents can register students at any time, MCPS is encouraging student registration through April 13. A child must be age 5 on or before Sept. 10, 2018, to register. Click here for more info or to enroll.

HAMILTON - Canyon View Church is holding a free family event called "Around the World Family Night on March 9. Come enjoy a fun-filled evening of games, snacks, and activities from cultures around the world. Call (406) 552-8074 for more information. The church is located at 195 Skalkaho Highway in Hamilton.

MISSOULA - The University of Montana's South and Southeast Asian Studies Department presents a classical Indian dance on March 11. The dance will be based on the life and work of Andal, an eighth century poet. This event is open to the public, donations are welcome. It will begin at 2 p.m. in the PARTV Building on the UM campus.

ST. REGIS - The St. Regis Community Center is one again hosting its annual St. Patrick's Day dinner and dance. The event will be on March 17 at 6 p.m. Come enjoy a free corned beef and cabbage dinner and music provided by the eagle's nest band. Be sure to bring a side dish to share with others.

MISSOULA - Missoula Aging Services is hosting a spaghetti dinner to benefit their Meals on Wheels program. The event will be held on March 18 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Missoula. The cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children.

MISSOULA - Missoula's YWCA will be hosting "Girls Representing in Trades" or 'Grit' for girls in grades six through eighth. The program will run from March 26 - March 30 and will involve learning basic skill in carpentry, welding, heavy duty equipment, and more. 

MISSOULA - Hilarious controlled chaos: that’s one way to describe The 39 Steps. The Missoula Community Theater will be staging this fast-paced, frantically funny non-musical mystery based on the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film. The production will take place March 8-18 at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are available at MCTinc.org; by calling 406-728-7529.

WEST GLACIER - The Glacier National Park Conservancy and Glacier National Park will host a public open house on March 13 at the Cedar Creek Lodge Grand Ballroom in Columbia Falls from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to discuss plans to rebuild the historic Sperry Chalet. Public comment is currently being sought.

MISSOULA - The annual Missoula Saint Patrick's Day parade is coming up. Those wishing to march in the event must contact the Missoula Chamber of Commerce by March 15. The parade steps off on Higgins Street at 12 p.m. on March 17. Click here for more information.

MISSOULA - The 2018 Native Youth Pow Wow will be held on March 18 at Sentinel High School. The Grand Entry will take place at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Missoula County Public Schools Indian Education Department. Click here for more information on the event.

MISSOULA - Share your thoughts on newly drafted zoning design standards and guidelines for development in Missoula’s main commercial corridors and greater downtown area at a community workshop at the DoubleTree Hotel on March 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.. The consultants will give a brief presentation followed by an open house for community members to review and comment on the potential new regulations.

WHITEFISH - The Flathead Valley eight grade Honor Band Festival will take place in the Whitefish Performing Arts Center on March 22. This year's guest conductor will be Russ Newbury, a well-known figure in the band world and a graduate of Whitefish High School who has  composed a band piece specifically for this event titled "Going to the Sun.

KALISPELL - The 11th Annual Cowboy Up for Samaritan House benefit dinner and auction will be held on April 14 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Gardner's Auction Barn on Highway 93 in Kalispell. There will be music, dancing, a ticket holder raffle, silent auction, live auction, jewelry heist, wine pull and games. More info at (406) 257-5801. Tickets will be available at the door $40 each or a table of 8 for $320. 

PABLO - ChickTech: Missoula is hosting a 1-day workshop on April 14 at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo to encourage high-school girls to enter computing and technical fields.Participants will choose to work on web and mobile app projects and are mentored by industry and academic professionals from high-tech fields. The event is free for the girls who have been nominated by their teacher or community advocate. Click here for more information.
