FORT BENTON - A Wolf Creek woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon near Fort Benton.
A Montana Highway Patrol dispatcher says a Ford F150, driven by a 23-year-old woman from Box Elder was driving northbound on US Highway 87 at a high rate of speed.
She attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with an oncoming Chevy Silverado. Both landed upside down. The victim, a 44-year-old woman from Wolf Creek, was partially ejected and died on scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
Five others were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital. Speed is a suspected factor in the crash.
GREAT FALLS - A fatal crash has been reported near Fort Benton along Highway 87 at mile marker 37.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the accident was reported at around 1:37 p.m. on Sunday.
Initial reports indicate that two vehicles were involved.
A Mercy Flight helicopter from Benefis Health System was called to the scene.
The name of the victim, number of people involved, and the level of injuries are unknown at this time.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
