HELENA - The 2018 YMCA Youth and Government Program had 207 high school students from around the state sign up.

The program's goal is to provide a fun and educational youth legislature while also modeling the Supreme Court.

After registration, students went through several orientations for the press and court as well as a lobbyist coalition exercise.

Vincente Gallardo, 16, attends Butte Central Catholic High School and he thinks politics are fascinating.

"I think it's very important for kids our age to look at politics just so they understand how our government actually works," he said.

The program's schedule ends on Wednesday. Click here for more information.
