MHP reminds drivers to watch for motorcycles

Posted: Jun 10, 2018 2:35 PM Updated:

GREAT FALLS - The Montana Highway Patrol is echoing “Look Twice, Save a Life” this summer as more motorcycles hit the pavement.

Six people on four motorcycles were seriously injured after they were hit by a vehicle near Great Falls earlier this month.

MHP Trooper Scott Waddell said it comes down to paying attention when you’re driving, especially during the warmer months.

“A good idea is to start playing a game with the kids in the car. Look for motorcycles,” said Waddell. “Instead of playing Slug Bug, play Motorcycles. ‘I see a motorcycle…’ Keep score, and that way you’re always looking for a motorcycle and the kids are looking for them, too and it will help them as they get older and they start to drive because they’ll be looking for motorcycles."

Trooper Waddell said motorcycles are required by law to ride with their headlights on in Montana.
