Posted: Updated:

BILLINGS - The Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting.

Sheriff Mike Linder stated in news release issued on Monday morning, the incident happened Friday at about 9:15 p.m.

Deputies were sent to a location on Castle Butte Road, north of Scothern Road, for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. The area is north of Pompeys Pillar.

When deputies arrived they found a man at the scene performing CPR on another man.

Deputies took over CPR efforts until a medical team arrived and determined the man had died at the scene. The man was identified as 29-year-old Jordan Castro of Billings.

Linder said investigators do not suspect foul play and no arrests have been made, but the investigation was continuing. He did not indicate whether the shooting may have been a suicide or accidental. Linder said no other information would be released at this time.
