Resource center for flood victims open Wednesday evening

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - Recovery efforts continue Wednesday evening for people whose properties were damaged in the Missoula-area floods this spring.

Supplies and assistance are available now at the Salvation Army on South Russell Street.

The Multi-Agency Resource Center was set up by Missoula County flood managers to provide some relief to people dealing with damaged sewage systems or in need of basic hygiene items, among other services.

Team Rubicon and other groups are on hand to help people muck out their houses.

Missoula County agencies are there as well.

“Floods are dirty and messy and really hard to recover from. Somebody has pick up all those sand bags, somebody has to clean out the houses. So, its really important that people who’ve already had a really tough time with the floods and who’ve already been out of their houses for a period of time have some help,” said Nick Holloway, projects coordinator for Missoula County Office of Emergency Management.

The resource center is open from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Salvation Army on south Russell Street.
