Sandy Welch, the Republican candidate for Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction, has dropped her request for a recount.
The final vote tally has Democratic incumbent Denise Juneau with 235,468 votes (50.24%), and Welch with 233,204 (49.76%), a difference of 2,264 votes, or just 0.48
