What is your job?
I’m a general assignment, multimedia journalist which means I report on a little bit of everything and I do a lot of different jobs! Some days I cover city council meetings and community events, other days I report on high speed chases and house fires. While on the job, I’m responsible for pitching story ideas, interviewing my subjects, gathering footage, writing the script, and editing everything together. I love my job because no two days are the same when you’re a reporter!
When did you start working here?
October of 2019
Where else have you worked?
This is my first job out of college, but I interned at FOX 59 in Indianapolis and WSBT 22 in South Bend, IN.
Where did you go to college?
Where did you grow up?
What are some of the biggest news stories you have covered?
Nothing too crazy yet, but I’ve worked on our company-wide segment “The Rebound,” focusing on how people and businesses have gotten back on their feet since the pandemic began.
What is your philosophy on news?
As a journalist, I get to meet people from all walks of life-young, old, rich, poor, the whole gamut of Montanans. My philosophy is to approach each story and each subject with the same enthusiasm and effort in hopes of bringing our viewers unbiased news that also makes them feel more connected to what’s happening in the community.
What do you love about living here?
I can’t think of anything I don’t love about Montana! The scenery, the outdoorsy lifestyle, the people, and above all, the Big Dipper, of course.
