Missoula County reports 140 additional COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) is reporting a total of 140 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases since the Thursday update.

The total number of cases now stands at 4,986 cases including 4,090 recoveries and 44 COVID-19 related deaths.

There are currently 852 active cases, up from the 834 that were reported on Thursday. A total of 25 of the active cases in Missoula County are associated with the University of Montana.

There are currently 36 active hospitalizations due to COVID-19, including 13 Missoula County residents.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has risen from 51 reported on Thursday to 58. The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

MCCHD announced on Dec. 4 that the drive-thru COVID-19 testing center located on Flynn Lane will now be accepting weekend appointments.

The Missoula City-County Board of Health updated the local COVID-19 restrictions on Nov. 19.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.
