Missoula County reports 33 new COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) reports an additional 33 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Wednesday update.

The number of active COVID-19 cases has fallen from 223 on Wednesday to 215.

The number of confirmed cases in Missoula County stands at 7,595 including 7,302 recoveries and 78 deaths.

There currently 14 COVID-19 related hospitalizations including eight county residents.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has dipped from 30 on Wednesday to 29.

The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

The Board of Health announced on Jan. 21 that there will be an easing of several of the COVID-19 restrictions in place for Missoula County.

Missoula County Public Schools released details for moving into the second phase of its reopening plan on Jan. 18.

Missoula County health officials announced on Jan. 14 that plans are in place to move to Phase 1B of COVID-19 vaccinations.
