SEATTLE – They were aced out of the overall #1 spot but Missoula firefighters once again dominate the annual charity stair climb at the tallest building in the Northwest.

The Missoula City Fire Department’s team has been the one to beat at the annual Seattle Stair Climb in recent years.

Although six-time winner Andrew Drobeck had his streak snapped last year, he once more came within seconds of being the best, finishing second overall.

Ben Brunsvold, who always finishes in the Top 5 seems to own third-place finishing just 13-seconds out of the top spot. Blake Meyers was 23rd overall.

Also on the top finishing Missoula team, Emily Garlough, who’s still a relative newcomer to the climb, finishing second among all women.

Matt Kottwitz finished in 47th for the Missoula Rural Fire District among the other fire teams from around Western Montana.

The climb raises tens of thousands of dollars every year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
