On Friday night, hundreds of cars drove up and down main street in Bozeman to support a cause.
Horns were honked, cars were decorated, all for the Defend the Police Rally. The event started in Belgrade with an estimated 200 cars, then more came along as the route went on. It was all to show support for law enforcement. There were about 20 protesters there, but it was predominantly a supportive cause for the men and women in blue.
“We want to totally support our police officers that there for us every time we need them," said one person driving down main street. "They’re respectable people, they’re our neighbors, we love them,"
“I'm out here today because my stepdad served almost 20 years for our Bozeman law enforcement and our law enforcement does so much for our community here in Bozeman," said Ashley Rustan. "Our country would be absolutely nowhere without our law enforcement and I'm out here to support them today. This is so amazing to see people supporting the men and women who put their lives on the line for us every single day and do so much for us.”
“They mean safety, service and love of country," one woman said as she was driving through the rally. "It gives me great pride that America is still the best place to be.”
“It’s very amazing," said one woman who's husband is a police officer. "It’s made me cry, because it’s incredible how many people are pro police here.”
