MISSOULA – Our recent warmer weather has prompted the National Weather Service in Missoula to issue a flood advisory for snowmelt in north-central Ravalli County until 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

One of the areas being affected saw record snowfall and now all of the melting is causing some minor flooding issues in the Stevensville area.

The NWS cautions that in addition to drainage ditches potentially overflowing onto roads, overland flooding could allow water to
seep into basements or crawlspaces in the Bitterroot Valley.

The Flood Advisory means ponding of water and overland flow is
occurring or is imminent.

Anyone who sees flooding is asked to contact local law enforcement.
