A sunny Friday will give way to a cooler, showery Saturday

MISSOULA — Happy Friday!

We are in for some changes this weekend, but nothing too drastic. We will definitely take a step back from the unusually warm 50s and 60s experienced on Friday. What it amounts to is we’ll be back to seasonal norms of highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s for a few days, with a gradual warm-up later next week.

A cold front will usher in cooler temperatures and the opportunity for light, scattered rain and snow showers late Friday evening through Saturday. Other than light snowfall accumulations in the mountains, there are no concerns of valley snow accumulations. Highs will reach the upper 30s to lower 40s in most areas. Again, that falls in line with what we’d typically expect for the last day of February.

We’ll begin the month of March on a nice note. It won’t be a perfectly sunny day, but we will see a mix of clouds and sun with mainly dry conditions. Again, highs will be seasonal with most locations reaching the upper 30s to lower 40s.

Monday and Tuesday will feature opportunities for a light mix of snow and rain. Monday will be the cooler day, and will feature a lower chance of precipitation, while Tuesday will be slightly warmer with highs in the lower to middle 40s. While I do believe much of the area will be wet, the showers will be light with little concern for accumulating snow.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the middle 40s and an opportunity for a light shower or two.

We’ll be back up in the lower to middle 50s late in the week under a partly to mostly cloudy sky.

Have a wonderful weekend!
