MISSOULA – We headed over to Washington Middle School for this Arts and Education report where we found everyone in the Christmas spirit.

The line from the populate Christmas movie Elf, sums up this day perfectly — “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”

That’s exactly what some high schools students were doing recently when they spent the day traveling to MCPS schools across Missoula to help everyone get into the holiday spirit.

The kids — from different high schools across Missoula — came together back in October to start working on the special performance.

A lot of hours and hard work was spent getting ready for this day, but for many of the kids, they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hellgate High School Senior Chloe Kearns has been singing in choir for the past three years and for her, the day was more than getting everyone in the Christmas spirit — it was also about spreading her passion for music, in hopes these middle schooler would also, one day, find the same love and joy for music that she feels.

“Choir is my favorite thing ever, singing is my biggest passion and I feel so happy and I just love being able to put my emotion and passion into something so beautiful like choir,” Kearns said.
