MISSOULA – This week’s One Class at a Time grant winner in Washington Middle School Spanish teacher Lindsey Egelston.

Republic Services Municipal Market Manager Chad Bauer and KPAX-TV General Manager Bob Hermes presented Egelston with a $250 check which will be used to purchase a variety of books for her students.

Egelston just moved to Washington Middle School from a smaller school system and says she needs a few more books.

She says the additional reading material will help enhance what she’s teaching in front of the students,

“Reading is a great way for them to kind of absorb that language and it’s really nice when there is a variety of books for them to choose from,” Egelston said.

“So they can pick one that they are going to be interested in and that way they’ll keep reading and, in turn, keep practicing and learning more vocabulary,” she added.
