MISSOULA – Area fire managers have bumped the fire danger rating for Missoula County to “moderate.”

The Missoula County Fire Protection Agency reports that under “moderate” fire danger, “means that any accidental fire starts will ignite and spread with moderate flame length. With wind, these fires will spread rapidly.”

The fire danger on the Bitterroot National Forest was hiked to “moderate” earlier this week.
