KALISPELL – Vietnam veterans may soon get the health care they have previously been denied.

A recent US Supreme Court decision could make blue water vets with exposure to agent orange eligible for new benefits, pending any potential challenges to the ruling.

Additionally, the proposed Mission Act would consolidate the Veteran Affairs care programs with the goal of streamlining care.

US Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) continued his trips across Montana over the weekend, meeting with veterans and discussing these issues.

Sen. Daines met with about 20 veterans from the Northwest Montana Vietnam Veterans of America on Saturday in Kalispell.

They discussed Agent Orange, the Mission Act and ways to receive care without having to travel out of state.
