KALISPELL – Missoula County has been dealing with a pertussis outbreak for several weeks.
We are now learning more about how whooping cough has been affecting the Flathead.
Lisa Dennison with the Flathead County Health Department told MTN News on Friday that four cases have been reported since May 4.
Dennison added that a total of 48 whooping cough cases have been reported since the beginning of the year.
Cases have been reported in elementary, middle and high schools around the Flathead in children ranging between eight and 18 years old, according to Dennison.
