MISSOULA — Happy Tuesday!

Monday certainly had a different feel than previous days, as a cold front brought us breezy and cooler conditions. Tuesday will feature similar conditions, though not as breezy.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, we’re going to see subtle and not-so-subtle changes with each passing day.

For our Tuesday, expect a sunny sky from start to finish. Dawn will bring temperatures in the upper 40s to middle 50s, with temperatures gradually warming into the middle to upper 80s by the late afternoon hours. A few towns will hit the 90=degree mark, but most will stay below that number.

Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week. Again, we’ll see sunshine from start to finish. Overnight lows will be similar to Tuesday morning, but with a strong ridge of high pressure reestablishing itself over the region, temperatures will warm more quickly, and surge into the upper 80s to middle 90s.

A cold front will approach the region on Thursday morning, and pass through the area during the afternoon hours. This frontal passage will bring windy conditions, an increase in clouds, and a chance of a few scattered showers and storms.

Highs will be a little tricky to forecast, as temperatures will warm quickly ahead of the front with a southwest flow but will top out earlier in the afternoon. Most will see highs ranging from the middle 80s to lower 90s.

Temperatures will be significantly cooler behind the front, which means we’re in store for below-average temperatures Friday through Sunday. Friday will be pleasant, with afternoon highs climbing into the middle to upper 70s under a sunny sky.

Saturday and Sunday will bring a mostly sunny to clear sky with highs reaching the upper 70s to middle 80s on Saturday, and middle 70s to lower 80s on Sunday.

Have a terrific Tuesday!
