MISSOULA — Today is going to have a much different feel than any we’ve seen in a while. Clouds will decrease early in the day leaving western Montana with an abundance of sunshine from mid-morning on. Winds will be increasing during the late morning hours, with sustained winds out of the west/northwest at 15-20 in many locations with gusts up to 30 mph. The biggest story will be the temperatures. Afternoon highs will only reach the middle to upper 70s, which is about 10 to 12 degrees below average.
The weekend is shaping up to be beautiful area-wide. Saturday will bring a mix of sun and clouds for the morning and early afternoon hours, with clouds clearing out later in the afternoon. We’ll see generally light winds out of the west with afternoon highs reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Sunday will bring a sunny sky from start to finish with a light wind out of the west/northwest. Temperatures will top out in the lower to middle 80s. Sunny, dry, pleasant weather will continue into next week. Afternoon highs will reach near-normal levels Monday through Wednesday which translates to the middle to upper 80s.
