MISSOULA — The Missoula Food Bank added an extra level of COVID-19 protection for customers and volunteers thanks to a generous donation from Diversified Plastics.

The Missoula business donated the design, materials, and labor for installation of plexiglass shields located at the check-in desks and interview stations. In recent weeks, Missoula Food Bank has created a system which allows customers to use their facility with as little contact as possible. Executive director, Aaron Brock, says this plexiglass donation helps to greatly reduce shopper and volunteer contact.

“There still is a tiny bit of interaction, there still is a little bit of information we’re collecting, and so to have volunteers who are collecting that information on one side of the plexiglass and our customers on the other side does provide and extra level of security and safety,” Brock said.

The plexiglass panels were installed late last week and will be used by the food bank for the foreseeable future.
