Kathryn Roley

KPAX

Weekend Anchor / Multi-media Journalist

Hi, my name is Kathryn Roley.

I will be reporting and anchoring the weekend newscasts here at KPAX.

I am originally from Renton, Washington which is right outside of Seattle. I graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Broadcast News.

I am so blessed to be joining the KPAX team and also be in Missoula right after college.

I love being outdoors and especially swimming. I also love being with my friends and family as much as I can. College football, basketball, and volleyball are some of my favorite events to attend. I can’t wait to report on community events and learn more about this amazing community.

During my time at WSU, I was one of the first student reporters to cover the University of Idaho murders that took place. I was also one of the first student journalists to be able to cover events in person after watching most events virtually.

Learning how to be a journalist during COVID was challenging but I learned so many skills that have helped me be able to have a more extensive background in reporting from afar.

I love being able to tell people's stories to the community. Letting people tell their stories is one reason I fell in love with journalism. I love being able to tell stories and bring community issues to light.

I am so excited to be in Missoula and continue to learn and grow as a journalist!
