Lolo National Forest is opening most campsites just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
The Forest Service is expecting campgrounds in the Missoula and Seeley Lake regions to be very busy and the forest service is asking the public to adhere to group size restrictions for the local area and continue frequent hand washing and other sanitary measures.
The Forest service is also recommending these three tips to recreate safely,
- Plan ahead some services may still be unavailable, so visitors are asked to plan accordingly and remain flexible.
- Adhere to local health and safety guidance, and take precautions recommended by the CDC
- Recreate responsibly and be cautious to ensure safety of yourself, family, and our communities.
Campsites such as Lee Creek Campground are only allowing access to the lower loop and other group picnic and campsites like Lake Inez Group Site, Lakeside Group, Lake Alva and Big Larch are closed indefinitely.
