Man facing murder charges after Hungry Horse shooting

KALISPELL – A man is facing charges after a late Wednesday night fatal shooting in Hungry Horse.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says deputies were dispatched at shortly before 11:45 p.m. after receiving reports of the shooting. Deputies arrived to find Bradley Allen Winters, 33, of Hungry Horse dead from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

An investigation showed that several individuals were involved in a physical altercation outside at the victim’s residence.  Sheriff Curry says that during the fight a handgun was pulled out and several rounds were fired with one hitting Winters in the chest.

The shooter, who’s been identified as James William Quen, 47, of Martin City was found before 1 a.m. on Thursday and was arrested Sheriff Curry said in a news release.

Quen has initially been charged with Deliberate Homicide and is behind bars at the Flathead County jail. Sheriff Curry says his office is still investigating the incident.
