Details emerge in fatal crash near Lolo

LOLO – We are learning more information about a fatal Saturday afternoon crash that happened south of Lolo.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports the head-on collision occurred at mile marker 79 on U.S. Highway 93 South just before 2 p.m. on Saturday.

MHP reports that the two vehicles involved were A Ford F-150 pickup truck and a GMC Sierra.

A 59-year-old man from Stevensville who was driving the Ford who died from his injuries. Authorities say he was driving southbound when he crossed the center line and collided with the GMC.

The two passengers in the GMC, a man from Huson and a woman from Missoula both 48 years old, were hurt in the crash.

MHP reports that alcohol and/or drugs are believed to have played a role in the fatal accident.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at mile marker 79 on US Highway 93 South just before 2 p.m. on Saturday near Trader Brothers.

MHP Trooper Timothy  Templeton says the driver of a southbound truck merged into oncoming traffic causing a head-on collision

The crash caused significant delays along US Highway 93, while crews processed the scene.

Alcohol and or drugs are believed to have played a role in the crash which remains under investigation.
