MISSOULA – Don’t worry Missoulians — everyone’s favorite outdoor lunch series is back for its 19th consecutive season in Downtown Missoula.

Out to Lunch kicked off its June to August outdoor lunch series Wednesday afternoon and has big plans for this season.

This year all of the food vendors have agreed to serve their food on or in compostable materials which follows the zero waste initiative for the city of Missoula.

Live music is back again and for this year’s series over 100 bands applied to perform.

Some new food vendors like Frigg N Fulla, Iron Cakes, Kamoon and Ninja Mikes will provide some new unique cuisines and most of the staples to the outdoor event are returning.

The Clove Cart Pizza stand has been slicing up pizzas at Out to Lunch for the past seven years and their owners say that the Wednesday even offers them a unique opportunity to serve more people.

“Just to have these regular weekday events is really beneficial to a mobile food business and to businesses downtown to be able to get together in a community setting outside in the summer,” Clove Cart Pizza owner Emma Poole said.

“It really helps businesses like us throughout the year because of just a Wednesday in the afternoon there wouldn’t be the potential for this large of a gathering anywhere else,” she added.

“For us, we kept it the same.  One thing that we see down here now is definitely everyone has more mobile trucks than before a little bigger operations but same faces just business is growing for everybody.”

Thursday night kicks off the Downtown Tonight series which starts with Luke Dowler and The Lucky Breaks.
