BOZEMAN — Two additional Gallatin County residents have died from complications due to COVID-19, according to the Gallatin City-County Health Department (GCCHD).

GCCHD said in a press release a woman in her 70s died the week of Nov. 15, and a man in his 80s died the week of Nov. 22. Both people were hospitalized when they died.

The press release said the official death certificates received this week by GCCHD attributed the causes of death to "respiratory failure as a result of COVID-19."

The number of Gallatin County residents who have lost their lives due to COVID-19 is now up to 24.

“We send our condolences to the family and friends of these folks,” said Matt Kelley, GCCHD Health Officer.

“With two more neighbors lost to COVID-19, we once again ask for the public’s help. We will get through this pandemic, but only with the assistance of everyone in our community. This holiday season, make sure to follow public health guidelines, and extend kindness and compassion to others,” he added.

Gallatin County reports 500 active COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday afternoon, with 23 people hospitalized.
