8th COVID-19 related death confirmed in Gallatin County

BOZEMAN — The Gallatin City-County Health Department confirmed Friday that another resident has passed away from complications due to COVID-19.

The person was a woman in her 90s who was a resident of a long-term care facility and died at home last week. Gallatin City-County Health Department received the official death certificate this week that attributed the death to COVID-19 and other significant health conditions.

This is the eighth death in Gallatin County related to COVID-19.

“We send our sincere condolences to family and friends,” said Matt Kelley, Gallatin City-County Health Department Health Officer. “With record numbers of COVID-19 cases getting reported in Gallatin County, we continue to need the community to step up and take precautions to slow the spread of this virus. We can’t do it alone. We need everyone to help their families, friends and neighbors by avoiding large groups, washing their hands, wearing face coverings in public, and staying home when sick."

Out of respect for the family, no further details will be released.
