The Broadwater County Sheriff's Office has reported a positive COVID-19 case in the county courthouse and law enforcement center complex.

Masks are now required at all times in the courthouse or the law enforcement center.

"I know we don't like change, we don't like inconveniences but as your Sheriff, I am asking folks to remain calm, courteous and understanding as we as your county officials work through this current situation. Please follow our page for updates or the county website. We are working hard to make things work for the citizens, to keep you safe and keep all the county employees safe as well," Sheriff Wynn M. Meehan wrote on Facebook.

Sheriff Meehan responded to a Facebook comment, "The courthouse is currently locked, so in order to into the building for an appointment a mask will have to be worn...if everyone gets sick in the courthouse, it won’t matter if it’s opened or closed as there won’t be anyone there to help you."
