MILES CITY — Two out-of-state residents have tested positive for COVID-19 in Custer County, according to the Custer County Health Department.

The new cases bring the total count in Custer County to three, although because they are from outside the area, health officials say they are not included in the official state tally.

All three cases are correlated and have had limited contact with the public in their jobs, according to the health department. They are not health care workers. All individuals with direct contact have been notified, health officials said.

The individuals were asymptomatic when they were tested and have been appropriately quarantined pending lab results to avoid spread, health officials said.

Montana reported 462 COVID-19 cases Thursday morning. That count does not include the new Custer County cases, nor the four new cases reported in Big Horn CountyThursday evening.
