Gov. Gianforte provides COVID-19 update for Montana

HELENA — Gov. Greg Gianforte held a press conference to provide an update on the state's response to COVID-19 on Friday afternoon.

The governor was joined by Major General Matt Quinn, the director of the state COVID-19 Task Force.

Gov. Gianforte noted that the recent trend lines regarding COVID-19 cases in Montana are "positive."

He also noted that as of Friday morning, 73,000 residents had received the vaccine and that 14,000 people are now fully immunized.

"Our vaccination plan will save lives," Gov. Gianforte said during the press conference.

The governor also noted that we are "not out of the woods" and he is encouraging Montanans to wear face masks and to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
