Missoula County confirms 4 additional COVID-19 related deaths

MISSOULA — Public health officials are confirming four additional COVID-19 related deaths in Missoula County.

The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) is reporting four additional COVID-related since its Friday report.

"The health department and local government leadership send our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones impacted by these losses at this difficult time," a news release states.

The latest deaths occurred in four female individuals who were all aged 70 years or older. No further information about the victims will be released.

A total of 31 Missoula County residents have now died from complications related to COVID infection.

There are currently 42 individuals hospitalized with complications related to COVID-19 infection in Missoula County facilities. Twenty-three of those 42 individuals are county residents.

Additionally, Missoula County reports 173 new COVID-19 cases since its Friday report -- including a new single-day record of 106, which was set on Saturday.

There are currently 898 active cases with more than 1,200 close contacts across the county. Fifty-six of the 898 currently active cases are associated with University of Montana staff, faculty, and students.
