MISSOULA — A fifth COVID-19 related death was reported in Missoula County on Friday afternoon.
"The Missoula City-County Health Department is deeply saddened to announce that another Missoula County resident passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection," a news release states.
The victim is described as being middle-age or older, but in order to protect the family’s privacy, MCCHD will not release any further information.
"The health department and local government leadership send deepest condolences to their family, friends and loved ones at this terrible time," the news release reads.
Health officials are urging people to be diligent about COVID prevention by practicing good hand-washing hygiene, limiting their social circles, maintaining six feet between others, wearing a proper face covering, and staying home when experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
To date, 211 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in Montana.
