MISSOULA — Local health officials are reporting that eight additional COVID-19 have been confirmed in Missoula County.

The Missoula City-County Health Department was reporting a cumulative positive case* total of 467 on Tuesday -- including five epi-linked cases.**

The latest numbers show there are currently 40 active COVID-19 cases in Missoula County. To date, there have been 424 recoveries and three deaths.

Local health officials additionally report that four people are hospitalized in Missoula County due to COVID-19 -- including two county residents.

Missoula became the first major city in Montana to require the wearing of face coverings on July 9.

Local public health officials have released guidelines for high school sporting events on Aug. 28. Home team players and home cheer squad members may receive two spectator tickets each and only spectators with a ticket may attend the event.
