Montana reports 415 confirmed COVID-19 cases

Update 4:15 p.m. Musselshell County Sheriff Shawn Lesnik told MTN News that the two new cases from his county were actually Golden Valley residents who tested positive at a hospital in Musselshell County.

The updated information, confirmed by Julie Rooney, public health nurse for the Central Montana Health District, leaves Musselshell County with one total COVID-19 case. That person has recovered, according to the Central Montana Health District.

Golden Valley County has three cases of COVID-19, according to the health district.

Lesnik said the state's numbers likely won't be updated until Friday.

The Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map shows there are 415 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday morning.

The previously reported state total on Wednesday was 404.

According to state statistics, 218 Montana residents have recovered from COVID-19 and there are currently 21 people hospitalized.

A total of 9,936 tests have been completed, according to the tracking map.

* The Missoula City-County Health Department was reporting 35 COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday morning -- including two "epi-linked cases. Local health departments often receive information on COVID-19 cases before state health officials.



Gov. Steve Bullock’s orders closing public schools and requiring people to stay home -- except for essential activities -- has been extended until April 24.

There have been three COVID-19 related deaths in Toole County, and one each in Flathead, Lincoln, Madison and Missoula counties.
