SIDNEY — Sidney has canceled all school activities this weekend, including a home football game and volleyball match against Fergus High School, because of rising COVID cases.
Superintendent Brent Sukut wrote on the school's Facebook page that Sidney High School has five students and one staff member test positive for COVID-19.
Richland County health officials do not believe spread is occurring at the school, and closing the school is not required, he wrote.
However, Sidney's opponents notified the district they would not participate in the games out of concern for their communities, so all Sidney activities were canceled for the weekend, according to Sukut.
