LIBBY – Libby police report that suspects have been caught in connection with a case of vandalism at the Libby Loggers baseball field.

Authorities have one juvenile in custody while police are attempting to locate the other two juveniles that have been identified.

Thousands of dollars in equipment and merchandise were damaged on Saturday at the Libby Logger’s concession stand. It also appears that a pile of t-shirts was set on fire.

Libby Loggers coach Kelly Morford says that in his 15 years of coaching he’s never seen anything like this.

The community has rallied together, and in record time raised over $3,000 in a GoFundMe campaign for repairs.

“It’s really demoralizing at first but just the whole experience and all the support that we got on Facebook and everywhere else has definitely overshadowed the negative part of this and has really turned this into a positive thing,” Morford said.

Morford told MTN News that he hopes to have repairs complete by the start of the Loggertown Bat Classic in May.
